He spent over a decade developing a new client investment experience to specifically address the major problems facing today's financial services industry.
Throughout his career he’s held positions as an advisor, consultant, portfolio manager, and vice president for institutional money management firms with billions of dollars in assets under management. These experiences led to a new way of thinking about personal finance based on a combination of three critical elements: customized financial planning, low cost factor-based investment management and fiduciary advice delivered by CFP® professionals.
Tim has regularly appeared as a guest on SiriusXM Business Radio and frequently contributes to media outlets including Investopedia, The Wall Street Journal, Investment News, US News & World Report, Financial Advisor IQ and AdvisorHUB. He holds a MBA with a concentration in Finance, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and an active member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors. He guest lecturers on personal finance via electronic media and at various locations throughout the northeast U.S. including his home state of Connecticut.
National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA)
NAPFA is the country’s leading professional association of Fee-Only financial advisors – highly trained professionals who are committed to working in the best interests of those they serve. Since 1983, Americans across the country have looked to NAPFA for access to financial professionals who meet the highest membership standards for professional competency, client-focused financial planning, and Fee-Only compensation. Each and every member is required to take a fiduciary oath to act in the best interest of their clients. Members must also adhere to NAPFA’s rigorous continuing education policy which requires NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisors to complete 60 hours of continuing education spread across a broad range of subjects, during every two-year cycle.
Certified Financial Planner Professional (CFP®)
The CFP® credential demonstrates that an individual has met the minimum education, experience, and testing required by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. To attain the CFP® credential, a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university, complete an advanced course of study addressing financial planning subject areas, pass a comprehensive financial planning examination, complete at least three years of full-time financial planning experience, and agree to be bound by the CFP® Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct. A CFP® credential holder is required to complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years and renew an agreement to be bound by the Standards of Professional Conduct. CFP® professionals must provide financial planning services under a fiduciary standard of care, acting in the best interests of their clients.
